Behind the Amelie Dress

Let me introduce you to the Amelie Dress — the piece that almost didn’t exist.
Originally, I had a completely different vision. I wanted a long, silk-blend gown — something timeless, elegant, refined. We sampled it, and… it just didn’t work. The proportions felt off, the fit wasn’t right, and no matter how many times I tweaked the neckline or adjusted the slit, it just wasn’t coming together. I was trying to save her — really trying — but deep down, I knew it wasn’t the one.
This was one of those moments where I learned (quickly) that agility in business isn’t optional — it’s essential. Things won’t always go to plan, and sometimes you have to be willing to pivot fast.
So, I scrapped the long gown idea and turned her into a mini. Short, sleek, and hot.
Definitely not what I had planned — but suddenly, everything clicked.
She wasn’t the original idea, but now?
She’s the moment.
